Wat Thai of Los Angeles, originally known as "Theravada Buddhist Center", is the largest Thai Theravada Buddhist Temple in the United States.

The temple stands as a tribute to Thai architecture in California, because it is the Thai Buddhist temple in the U.S. constructed according to Thai architecture. It serves an estimated 40,000 Thais.

The monks at Wat Thai are members of the Theravada section of Buddhism, a section that adheres closely to the pure teachings of Buddha. They are very reserved and hold strictly of what Buddha taught and they have changed no teachings laid down by Buddha.
